Dalton, GA — Hammond Creek Middle School is proud torecognize Malorie Noles for her outstanding contributions to the field of education. Recently, Noles presented at the Georgia Council for the Social Studies (GCSS) conference in Athens, Georgia. Her presentation was so well-received that the GCSS board has invited her to return in 2025 to deliver an extended session.
In addition to her presentation at GCSS, Noles was wrote an article published in the fall 2024 issue of Teaching Social Studies in the Peach State. Her article, “Using Young Adult Literature and Visual Commentary with Multilingual Learners in Middle Grades Social Studies,” offers innovative strategies to enhance learning for multilingual students, combining creative instructional methods with a focus on equity and accessibility.
Teaching Social Studies in the Peach State is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that features practitioner-focused articles aimed at advancing social studies education. It is co-sponsored by the Georgia Council for Social Studies, the Georgia Council for History Education, the Georgia Council for Economic Education, and the Georgia Council for Civic Engagement.
